Hello there, I'm Miss Emily. Nice to meet you!
I have been playing the piano since I was around 5 years old. My parents like to tell a story - they found me as a toddler one day, sitting by my little plastic Fisher Price toy piano, playing and singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. The rest, as they say, is history - Mom & Dad promptly and proudly signed their mini Mozart up for piano lessons, and here I am today. Slaying.
In 2012, I graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with an A.A. in Music under the guidance of pianist Dr. Suzan Park, and later graduated from George Mason University with my B.A in Music (Fall 2015). While there, I had the opportunity to study under renowned pianists Dr. Anna Balakerskaia and Dr. Linda Apple Monson. As of January 2019, I completed my Master's program in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing. Queen Latifah was the keynote speaker at my commencement that summer, which was basically the highlight of my educational career. Now, I am blessed to be able to follow my dream and run my studio full-time.
I began teaching professionally in 2010. Emily Elizabeth Piano Studio was founded in 2015, and I added voice lessons in 2016.
In my house, we have me (of course), my wonderful husband, my 6 year old daughter and my 8 month old baby girl. We also have a Shiba Inu, Sasuke, who is 3 and insane, as well as a 3 year old calico cat named Lucky.
In my free time, of which there is very little, I like to clean my house (I seriously do, it's almost an obsession), play with my tiny human, run, bake, and paint. Oh, and play the piano, of course!
